Data Warehouse Architect – Durban – R1.2Mil To 1.4Mil Per Annum

Your expertise in data warehousing, real-time streaming (Apache Kafka), and distributed computing will shape the future of our data infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure top-tier data integration, governance, and security.

Responsibilities:

1. Design & implement scalable, high-performance data warehouses.
2. Develop long-term data management & integration strategies.
3. Lead evaluations & recommend best-fit technologies for real-time & batch processing.
4. Optimize ETL / ELT workflows, data pipelines, and distributed storage.
5. Architect and maintain Kafka-based streaming platforms.
6. Ensure compliance with data security & regulatory standards.
7. Leverage distributed computing technologies to process and analyze large datasets efficiently.
8. Present architectural strategies, progress, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
9. Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
10. Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies in data warehousing, big data, and streaming analytics.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. 8+ years in data architecture, warehousing, and engineering.
2. 3-5 years working with Apache Kafka & real-time streaming.
3. Strong experience with AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
4. Expertise in SQL performance tuning & database optimization.
5. Hands-on with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Presto.
6. Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
7. Deep knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.
8. Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency data architectures.
