Data Scientist – Centurion – Rk up to Rk per annum

POSITION INFO: A client growing rapidly with international ambitions developing multiple valuable products in the areas of supplier risk, customer risk, and third-party risk management are on a recruitment drive for a Data Scientist to apply data mining techniques and conduct statistical analysis to large, structured and unstructured data sets.

Responsibilities:

1. Ability to do routine data cleaning and analysis tasks
2. Identify patterns and correlations in data from which hypotheses can be built
3. Ability to turn data insights into practical actions resulting in improved results
4. Modify rule-based scorecards, frameworks and algorithm tuning
5. Expose models and scorecards to other systems (API / Queue)
6. Schedule analytical activities (automation)
7. Ability to identify the most relevant modelling approach based on the type of problem and available data (Logistic regression, random forest, etc)
8. Ability to train and maintain models
9. Data cleaning and pre-processing (Size, data distribution, imputation, removing outliers, etc)
10. Ability to do feature engineering towards specific predictable targets (Not just including raw data)
11. Experience in correctly applying model performance approaches in the context of the training approaches taken (Classification Models, Confusion Matrix, etc)

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A degree in either engineering, data science, statistics, computer science, or any other quantitative field
2. 5 - 7 years development experience in software and software engineering, financial services data processes, technical business intelligence.
3. 5 - 7 years' experience of working with unstructured data (e.g., streams, images)
4. Understanding of data flows, data architecture, ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data.
5. Advanced statistical / machine learning with applications in the financial technology sector.
6. Natural language processing.
7. Demonstrated ability to implement dimensional modelling methods (SCD, Fact Tables, Schemas, etc)
8. Experience with common data science toolkits, such as SAS, R, SPSS, etc
9. Knowledge of IT infrastructure and data principles.
10. Project management experience
11. Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.

The Reference Number for this position is NG which is a Permanent Hybrid position in Centurion offering a salary of up to Rk – Rk CTC salary negotiable based on experience.
