As a data scientist, you'll work closely with the business and our partners to analyse and understand patterns in customer behaviour. You will identify new insights that can be used by the business for future decisions, both big and small. You may find yourself using your skills to solve specific problems or offer support where others cannot. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in statistics or related fields such as mathematics, computer science or engineering (with some programming experience). A good knowledge of R would be beneficial but not essential. Experience working with SQL Server is desirable but not required as this role is primarily focused on building/maintaining databases within PostgreSQL (RDS) systems.
Duties and responsibilities:
Evaluates the data sets to make sure it is clean, relevant, and applicable to the project
Supports the modelling of the data sets with advanced statistical methods
Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the solutions, the problem being solved, and the outputs
Establishes and maintains relationships with end-users, business analysts, and operational team members. Develops, implements, and tests new data mining techniques
Builds dashboards to visualize structured and semi-structured data
Plans and implements modern predictive models using R programming language and/or other
Data collection and pre-processing
Create Prediction model
ML training
Mapping brand data
Model selection and tuning
Model deployment and monitoring
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field required
At least 5 years of experience in the statistical analysis of data and/or machine learning required
A minimum of two years of experience in data science and/or machine learning, including R programming and Java
Strong understanding of data modeling and statistics
Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence technologies a plus
