An esteemed and forward-thinking bank in South Africa is seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer to join their innovative team. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of up to R1 Million per annum and is based in the vibrant city of Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be a crucial player in transforming data into actionable insights and driving the bank's data-driven strategies forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust data models to support business analytics and decision-making processes.
• Utilize Power BI to create comprehensive and user-friendly data visualizations.
• Implement and manage ETL processes using SSIS to ensure seamless data integration and transformation.
• Work with Azure (preferred) or AWS cloud technologies to build and manage scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions that meet business needs.
• Conduct data modelling to design and structure data systems that enhance data accessibility and usability.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through diligent data validation and monitoring practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, maintaining data availability and consistency.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with Power BI for data visualization.
• Strong expertise in SSIS for ETL processes.
• Experience with Azure is preferred, but candidates with AWS experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability in data modelling and designing data systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience without a degree will be considered based on the candidate's proficiency and track record.
