Job description

A leading South African online retailer is looking for a highly talented Site and Services Manager to join our Supply Chain team in Johannesburg DC. We are a young, dynamic, hyper-growth company looking for smart, creative, hardworking people with integrity to join us.

The position reports to: General Manager: Operations.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Making active decisions on fault legitimacy, including scrutiny of quotations and sign-off of services rendered.
  2. Act as the primary contact for building infrastructure backup systems such as generators and UPS (24/7 availability).
  3. First line of contact with the landlord and/or any representative.
  4. Manage contracts and B2B relationships.
  5. Oversee maintenance, improvement, and long-term planning development, including major building renovations and rehabilitation projects.
  6. Keep critical spares for Sorter, MHEs, Automation equipment, Scanners, Batteries, Printers, and Tools of Trade.
  7. Prepare information for review and discussion with Management to select vendors.
  8. Lead and manage facility projects to ensure best utilization of space, resources, and safety for all employees.
  9. Coordinate office and DC area improvements including day-to-day facility operations and critical systems.
  10. Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
  11. Oversee the administration of contractor work (e.g., janitorial, building contractors, landscaping).
  12. Track and execute facility and maintenance expense budgets.
  13. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and codes related to facilities.
  14. Reconcile and track third-party invoices and expenses.
  15. Maintain records and vendor documents, such as contracts and service records.
  16. Ensure location and employees are in compliance and work with employees to identify and resolve issues.
  17. Maintain a presentable facility and property at all times.
  18. Supervise sub-contracted staff.
  19. Manage cleaning/hygiene suppliers and contracts.
  20. Catering and vending management, including the management and upkeep of canteen facilities.
  21. Understand and manage power systems, IT cabling, basic construction, alarm systems, and gardening maintenance.
  22. Take emergency calls at all times and work odd hours, including weekends and public holidays, if needed.
  23. Support and align with DC Operations, Times, Ways of Work, etc.
  24. Perform departmental administration functions as required.
  25. Perform any other ad-hoc functions related to the department.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12.
  2. Diploma or certificate in Facility Management and/or Maintenance Management and/or Automation Mechanical Management and/or an appropriate Technical qualification.
  3. 8 or more years of related work and knowledge required.
