We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Data Analyst position within the Services Department. The position will report to the Manager Fleet Support Centre and is based in Randjespark, Midrand (Gauteng).
Job Purpose
- Execute the Services Engineering activities in the project.
- Manage and be a part of the task’s execution team within the Fleet Support Centre.
- Guard the improvement of fleet reliability, observing its Total Cost of Ownership, and ensure the accomplishment of the different KPIs.
- Ensure the quality requirements established by the Board and the maintenance plans are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support Function
- Assure the technical support to the projects to support turnaround time unblocking commercial service and time-to-repair.
- Propose innovative solutions and implement Services solutions in the maintenance projects.
- Analyse the technical performance of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.
- Search for improvement actions in maintenance operations, performing engineering interface activities with Operations Engineers (depot support).
- Analyse failure criticality studies and use RCM (Reliability Centre Maintenance) and other available methodologies to define and optimise the maintenance requirements, tasks, and intervals.
- Analyse and integrate data coming from Operations (Return on Experience).
Data Analyst Function
- Provide Training both Product and Maintenance to support TSSSA Business.
- Fleet analysis: Logs, events, and incidences analysis to define/coordinate corrective actions to take.
- Analyse in real time events & faults from the fleet to identify appropriate generic design problems and specific fleet or infrastructure defects.
- Creation of different reports (contractual/technical, etc.) to explain incidents.
- Creation of analytics reports using available tools (Tableau, etc.).
- Support the improvement of the diagnosis tool and all future tools.
- Cooperate in the organization of the corrective maintenance both in depot and the stations.
- Cooperate in the implementation and development of new tools to monitor new subsystems and improve the effectiveness of the tasks done in the depot.
- Verify the correct execution of the maintenance plan, proposing improvements.
- Test different electromechanical components.
- Update KPIs.
- Notify incidents that are likely to lead to Safety issues and Service Affecting in the fleet.
- Quality, Environment, Safety and Health normative accomplishment.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc / B.Eng. Degree (in Electronics or Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering) with 2 Years relevant working experience in similar industry.
- BTech/ Adv Dip (in Electronics or Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering) with 3 years relevant working experience in similar industry.
- Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA.
- Knowledge of Prognostic Tools.
- ERP System knowledge SAP.
- Training as a trainer experience will be an added advantage.
- Rail safety and railways standards knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Matlab and Simulink.
- Python.

The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots.
