Role Overview

Our Digital Advisory team is expanding! We’re building future-focused data solutions across renewable energy, transport, water, and buildings. As part of Zutari, an infrastructure design and construction company, we collaborate closely with our BIM and IoT teams, integrating static 3D models and real-time asset data to drive smarter decision-making over the full lifecycle of infrastructure.

We are looking for a dynamic Data Analyst / Business Analyst who combines technical expertise with strong business acumen to drive both data-driven insights and commercial opportunities. This role requires someone who can work with data, engage with clients, identify opportunities for new business, and help sell the broader capabilities of the data team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in data engineering and data science while being proactive in seeking out new projects, building relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to business growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to apply data-driven solutions to business challenges and drive commercial value.
• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their pain points, propose solutions, and upsell the data team’s capabilities.
• Collect, clean, and transform data from various sources to generate insights that drive strategic decision-making.
• Develop data-driven proposals and business cases to secure new work from existing and prospective clients.
• Work with data engineering and data science teams to design and implement scalable, practical solutions.
• Create and present compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations to stakeholders.
• Act as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring alignment between data capabilities and commercial goals.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging data technologies, and best practices to identify new business opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

• Passion for both data and business.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a similar role.
• Strong technical background in SQL, data engineering pipelines, and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Python or R for data manipulation and analytics.
• Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders to identify opportunities and drive initiatives.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to translate complex data insights into clear business recommendations.

The following will be considered advantageous:

• Experience in data engineering (ETL, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google, Snowflake, Data Bricks).
• Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
• Building information modelling (BIM).
• Real-time data from IOT devices.
• Exposure to machine learning and AI-driven analytics.
• Knowledge of sales processes or prior experience in consulting/business development.
• Proven ability to develop data-driven business cases and secure client buy-in.
• Experience working in construction industry.
