In the role of Data Analyst, the successful candidate will leverage retail, customer, and marketing data to produce valuable insights, enhance marketing campaigns, and support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate's work will be key in advancing data-driven initiatives within the client's extensive retail environment.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Key Responsibilities:
Data Insights & Analysis: Create reports and interactive dashboards, perform descriptive analysis on retail and customer behaviours, and assess the effectiveness of different projects and initiatives.
System & Project Delivery: Oversee the implementation of system enhancements and contribute to predictive and prescriptive modelling projects.
Strategic Recommendations: Apply your analytical expertise to uncover opportunities, provide recommendations for future initiatives, and drive improved business results.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Technical Skills:
Big Query SQL, Python, or R.
Above average computer literacy (MS Office, Excel (Advanced), Google Workspace.)
Data visualisation tools (e.g. Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI.)
Knowledge of statistics and data modelling.
Knowledge of Data cleaning and enrichment.
Knowledge and understanding of POPIA.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Degree in Business focusing on Analytical or Commercial subjects (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering.)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least five years of experience as an analyst, ideally within a marketing or digital agency environment, specialising in delivering customer insights to influence customer behaviour.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
Experience in the retail sector is a plus.
