About the role
As the Credit Risk Manager at Yoco, you'll be responsible for designing and managing our credit risk strategies.
Using our credit performance data, you'll work closely with a cross-functional team to bring transparent, affordable, and seamless lending products to small businesses across our markets.
What you will be doing
About you
You have 8+ years of experience managing risk policies for lending products, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
You're passionate about taking initiatives from zero to one and have an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to establish and expand core risk capabilities.
Demonstrable track record in policy, credit portfolio management, and a good understanding of South African and international credit regulations.
Strong data competencies including building datasets, feature engineering, statistical analysis, creating predictive models, and data aggregation techniques.
Proficient in modern data architecture and cloud infrastructure (particularly GCP), with the ability to write complex queries and comfortably handle large volumes of data.
Self-starter who can independently run credit risk operations end-to-end while effectively partnering with data teams when needed.
Exceptional problem-solving and prioritisation skills, coupled with a pragmatic approach.
Excellent in stakeholder management and engagement, capable of simplifying complex topics for a broad audience.
Experience in a fintech hyper-growth environment is a plus but optional.
