Job Purpose

The purpose of the Credit Manager: General Trade is to oversee the comprehensive management of accounts receivable for General Trade, optimizing processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The role proactively manages credit risk, resolves disputes, and fosters strong relationships with general trade customers, while providing essential support to the AR Supervisor and ensuring adherence to financial objectives.

Qualifications And Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Preferred)
  2. Up to 6 Years Experience (Operational Execution)
  3. SAP/MS OFFICE

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

General Trade Credit Management

  1. Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable function, overseeing payments, collections, and reconciliations for General Trade Accounts.
  2. Continuously review AR processes for optimization, tracking performance against KPIs and implementing corrective actions within General Trade Accounts.
  3. Ensure effective monitoring and maintenance of General Trade Accounts, adhering to the National Credit Act.
  4. Manage credit checks, new account openings, and special payment arrangements to minimize financial risk.
  5. Resolve customer disputes related to payments and maintain monthly audit reviews of debtor reconciliations.
  6. Assist in managing complex documents related to Key Account customer master data.
  7. Maintain the age analysis within the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) target and assess customer credit ratings and limits for General Trade Accounts.
  8. Collaborate with legal teams to discuss debt repayment terms and conditions.
  9. Consolidate standard reporting including cash forecasts and planning information for General Trade Accounts.
  10. Support AR Supervisor with ad-hoc requirements.

General Operational and Financial Management

  1. Actively participate in operational planning and budgeting processes.
  2. Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimizing relevant operational practices, processes, and systems.
  3. Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards, and controls.
  4. Control costs and take the necessary action to mitigate any financial risks or non-compliance.
