Job Purpose

The purpose of the Credit Controller role is to rehabilitate medium to high-risk accounts and handle all administration of accounts, such as adjustments on the students ledger.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Deal with all queries or specialized accounts such as cancellations/special arrangements which include:
   1. Identification and tracing of unallocated payments
   2. Payment plan maintenance
   3. Incoming queries
2. Rehabilitating medium to high-risk accounts which include:
   1. Converting query or overdue account to PTP (Promise to pay) or payment
   2. Payment arrangements for clients with difficulty maintaining standard contract terms and conditions.
3. Clearly note all correspondence (verbal and/or written) on applicable accounting system
4. Answering incoming calls (outcome of the call will determine what the next step is)

• Matric (NQF 4 Level qualification) minimum

• 7 years debt collection experience minimum

• The ability to deal with customers diligently, courteously, and professionally while collecting payments (excellent telephone manner)
• The ability to understand and read a statement in order to identify overdue accounts
• Be concise and assertive, although also persuasive and patient
• Knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Reconciliation knowledge
• Customer service oriented with some knowledge of CPA
• Self-motivated, reliable negotiation experts who care for our clients as well as our company
• Collection agents need to be patient and diligent, especially when it comes to tracking down the individuals responsible for paying off a debt, as customers may avoid calls from collections agents or quickly hang up.
