A B Comm or related B Degree (Business Management, Logistics or Transport),
An Hons Degree would be an added advantage.
A minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in the logistics industry.
With 5 of those years of senior line management experience.
Experience in logistics and business software systems.
Additional experience and/or exposure in sales or manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Develop a medium-impact warehouse strategy and business plan based on diagnosis, analysis, insight, expertise, and warehouse principles.
Develop and lead the annual and seasonal plans to optimize the operation by aligning resources to activity levels and meeting customer service needs to improve the overall warehouse performance.
Managing the warehouse center of excellence for the business.
Develop and manage the overall warehouse budget and allocation of funds according to plan
Lead and assume accountability for centralized stock and warehouse services.
Drive cost efficiencies and transformation through key strategic projects implementation e.g., centralisation of automated picking activities.
Lead the capability development for the warehouse through the centre of excellence incorporating best practices on behalf of the business.
Perform tactical planning analysis to improve the overall performance of the Warehouse (i.e., Management of the warehouse planning process and liaison with Regional Logistics Managers for each logistics channel; Lead the analysis, development, and review of warehouse capacity, location and efficiency from a divisional perspective).
Develop and update the people and warehouse equipment resourcing models to enable effective warehouse performance and optimal cost to serve.
Operational Management
Assess current warehouse solutions and develop new solutions with the aim of achieving continuous improvement.
Ensure the alignment and integration of activities within warehousing (Warehouse and Distribution) with the rest of the business.
Develop standard operating practices for all warehouse activities and ensure that all these practices are aligned with the business governance (RACM) requirements.
Sharing of operational best practices across countries.
Align and engage with stakeholders internally and externally.
Provide direction and leadership to teams through driving empowerment, accountability, a culture of forward-thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement (i.e. ensure the continuous modeling of operational performance to meet optimal customer service and cost objectives).
Drive stock management and financial reconciliation of stock in warehouses.
Perform Sarbox control to ensure audit compliance in respect of stock management and movement.
Effective management of warehouse improvement projects and the utilization of effective project management principles.
Development and review of KPIs relevant to warehouse efficiencies and performance.
Digital Transformation
Drive the Logistics digital transformation agenda by identifying and reviewing new digital solutions for implementation to achieve business outcomes.
Identify digitalization opportunities in the Warehouse, Fleet, and Distribution business case must be reviewed to ensure that it aligns with the business digitalization journey and would deliver the proposed outputs before it is submitted to the Logistics Director for review and approval.
Manage the project with all the functional leads and contractors to ensure that all digitalization-approved projects go from idea to realization in all three departments
Collaborate with the Company IT function and relevant vendors to identify and map a 3 to 5-year5 years digital forecast to help develop new solutions.
Assessing technological advancement opportunities to improve the Company Logistics value chain.
Ensure that Logistics is constantly looking to improve its digitalization footprint to reduce costs
Conduct a review of new solutions to recommend for adoption.
