Country Finance Manager

Our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company based in Beira, has an opportunity available for a Country Finance Manager to join their team. This position will require complete relocation to Beira, Mozambique – which according to our client… “is actually a pretty cool place to live”. Qualifications required:

• Bcom / Accounting degree

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance Manager position
• Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP would be advantageous
• Proven track record managing a team

• Report to the General Manager and the Group Financial Manager
• Lead, manage and develop a finance team of 8 people
• Oversee accurate financial data capturing by the Finance and Accounts department for 3 branches in Mozambique and consolidate
• Draft budgets, monitor costs, and conduct reviews/evaluations for cost-reducing opportunities
• Prepare Management Accounts
• Work with regulatory bodies to complete filings and maintain compliance with local laws and IFRS standards
• Maintain Asset Registers for 3 Mozambique branches and update depreciation
• Submit Annual Financial Statements for the Mozambique operations
• Ensure all financial documents are filed properly and comply with local regulations and company policies
• Manage data analysis, financial input, and reporting of actual and projected financial data
• Set up financial processes such as vendor/customer information, payment structures, account management, and reconciliations
• Direct stock counts and inventory management, preparing monthly region-specific reports and implementing cost-saving opportunities
• Oversee payroll, tax reporting, compliance with HR regulations, and ensure accurate salary payments and documentation
• Manage financial records, including VAT reconciliations, debt recovery, and assisting with audits, ensuring timely submission of finance reporting
