Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to provide comprehensive pricing information. This role is crucial to ensuring that our bids are competitive and profitable while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze project plans, blueprints, and technical documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
2. Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and scope.
3. Determine material, labour, equipment, and time requirements for projects.
4. Research material, equipment, and labor costs, maintaining up-to-date pricing information.
5. Prepare detailed and organized cost estimate reports.
6. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
7. Assist with bid preparation and submission for potential projects.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Cost Estimator, preferably in sheet metal, construction, or manufacturing industries.
2. Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
3. Proficiency in estimating software and tools beneficial (e.g., ESTMEP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel).
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
6. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
7. Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and material standards is a plus.
