Job Title: Cost Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cost Estimator to join our client's team in the solar space. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring project success by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Consulting with clients and visiting project sites to gather data.
2. Analyzing data to estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and production time.
3. Preparing cost analyses, tender documents, and bills of quantities.
4. Collaborating with engineers, project managers, finance, and other stakeholders.
5. Identifying and quantifying all cost factors involved in a project.
6. Utilizing cost estimating software to generate reports.
7. Reviewing project expenditures throughout all phases.
8. Developing and preparing conceptual estimates.
9. Creating detailed critical path job schedules.
10. Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
11. Evaluating bids and purchase offers.
12. Resolving cost discrepancies through analysis and data collection.
13. Preparing and presenting budgets, reports, and project plans.
14. Developing bids for construction projects.
15. Understanding and adhering to industry standards and codes.
16. Processing paperwork and visiting construction sites as needed.
17. Monitoring construction processes.
18. Staying current with safety codes and construction best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., construction management, engineering, quantity surveying) or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably within the solar or electrical projects sector.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent mathematical skills with an eye for detail.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
6. Experience with construction costing software (e.g., Candy) is a must.
7. Demonstrated experience with construction contracts.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Customer-focused with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
