Job Requirements: The ideal applicant will possess the following qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent academic qualification, certificate, diploma, B.Com degree, or an equivalent qualification. A prerequisite is articles served and completed. The candidate should have 2-3 years of experience managing people, along with a good understanding of finance, costing, and project management skills. Previous working experience of approximately 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in OEM bus chassis assembly, bus bodybuilding, accident, and mechanical repair, is required. The candidate must be able to compile financials, budgets, and bills of materials (BOM) for bus and auxiliary products in conjunction with the MRP Planner and stores. The candidate must manage assets (tools and equipment) for respective departmental sections in conjunction with senior management and executives. This role involves financial and cost accounting responsibilities at a factory level with executive reporting expertise. Responsibilities include performing and coordinating interim and annual stock counts. Based on production requirements, management will move employees to required areas or sections of the business.
Job Outputs: Manage a group of approximately 2-3 people. Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports for information sharing, auditing, and operational use. Prepare monthly management reports with statistics for executive presentation. Participate in and prepare inputs for forecast and budget preparations. Prepare financial statements and model scenarios for new products. Perform costing in a manufacturing environment, including preparing costing models. Reconcile accounts, records, and reports, and perform journal entries. Prepare financial and/or auditor statements, schedules, and reports. Interpret and apply acts, codes, and regulations (e.g., COID, Tax, VAT, and MIBCO). Review and verify the accuracy of data with variance analysis reporting. Maintain accounting records for R&D, special accounts, and projects. Make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures. Organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines. Communicate effectively with co-workers, managers, subordinates, and the public to convey information and receive work direction. Work closely with executives, management, stores, and production planners. Assist senior management in developing and improving profitability at the factory level. Participate in the implementation of the Embrace system (costing & financial), MRP II, ISO 9001 QMS, ISO 14001 EMS, Time and Attendance System, and ISO 18001 Health and Safety System. Attend to audit queries and reports.
