This role involves determining corrosion sectors, assigning corrosion circuits, estimating corrosion rates, and reviewing process changes. Experience in performing CMP, CCCI, RBI, ILI, and corrosion coupon evaluations is required.
Key Responsibilities
Determine corrosion sectors from process flow diagrams (PFDs) and assign corrosion circuits from P&IDs.
Estimate corrosion rates for each piping corrosion circuit.
Assign Thickness Measurement Locations (TMLs) to corrosion circuits, ensuring quantity and location align with the expected corrosion class.
Review corrosion rates greater than 5 MPY (mils per year) for equipment with remaining life less than twice the OSI (Operating Strategy Interval) and take appropriate action.
Assess the impact of process changes on the OSI program and adjust TMLs or intervals as required.
Perform Corrosion Management Program (CMP), Corrosion Control and Inspection (CCCI), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), In-Line Inspection (ILI), and corrosion coupon evaluations.
Provide technical recommendations and failure analysis for corrosion-related issues.
