Copywriter

JOB PURPOSE:
To draft compelling and engaging email messaging targeted toward the Ackermans customer, and to collaborate closely with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure effective brand messaging to drive customer engagement and loyalty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop creative, engaging, and persuasive copy for email campaigns that resonate with the Ackermans customer.
• Ensure consistency of the Ackermans brand and messaging when engaging with the customer.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to segment the customer database effectively and personalize email content based on the Ackermans customer preferences.
• Analyze and optimize email content and strategies based on customer engagement/feedback.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 3-5 years’ experience working as a copywriter across a range of communication platforms.
• Experience working in a marketing or advertising agency environment.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Excellent copywriting and writing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Understand the Ackermans brand identity.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• A good command of the English language.
• Strong understanding of email marketing best practices.
• Proficiency in using email marketing platforms.
• Creative thinking and ability to generate ideas for email campaigns that drive engagement and conversion.
• Proficient in MS-Office Suite.
• Excellent planning and time management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong multi-tasking skills (ability to work on more than one brief).
• Solutions and deadline-driven.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric.
• 3 Year Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing, Communication, English, or Journalism.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of the retail clothing industry is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of conversion-focused content, sales funnels, and consumer psychology.
