Cooking Process Team Leader
Role Overview
Lead daily food manufacturing processes to meet production plans, maintain quality, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Support the Production Group Leader in achieving production targets and managing the team effectively.
Line Manager: Production Group Leader
Shifts: Rotational between morning, noon, and night
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent.
- Mechanical engineering N3 – N6 advantageous – Preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills and basic literacy/numeracy.
- Forklift license
- Microbiological background or understanding.
- 2+ years' experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
- 2+ years' experience in cooking sauces and mayonnaise.
- Understanding of LEAN principles and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the cooking process to ensure adherence to recipes, ingredients, and quality standards.
- Manage team performance, training, and timekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and quality regulations.
- Monitor and improve production efficiency using lean manufacturing tools.
- Maintain accurate records of production and stock movements.
- Participate in audits, stock takes, and continuous improvement projects.
