Contract Manager

Our client is looking for a Contract Manager to join their team.

The job entails management and control of all contractual aspects of projects, ensuring that all contracts' purpose, scope, objectives, constraints, and risks are developed and managed to ensure effective and efficient implementation of projects in line with company strategic objectives and compliance with relevant policies and legislation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist Chief Contracts Manager in developing and implementing guidelines in line with the latest MFMA, PFMA, and company SCM policies.
2. Responsible for drafting standard contract documents for different contracts.
3. Manage the legal compliance of Tender/Bid documents prepared by PMU/ESU and outsourced service providers.
4. Assist Senior Management in developing operations plan and budget for incorporation into the CAPEX departmental budget.
5. Provide leadership and management in the contract management unit through proactive planning.
6. Develop appropriate procedures (SOPs) to provide sustainable Legal Contracts Management services.
7. Develop procedures for monitoring and evaluation of legal contracts between Contractors and professional Service providers including PMU and ESU.
8. Develop and manage CAPEX legal registers by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives.
9. Compile reports and statistics on Legal compliance.
10. Understand and utilize in-house MIS system and software to meet contractual MFMA and PFMA requirements.
11. Assist PMU in the procurement process of Capital and Operation projects within the CAPEX environment.

1. Degree with majors/specialization in Construction Law or LLB with experience in Construction contracts.
2. Eligibility to be registered as an Arbitrator with Arbitration SA.
3. Minimum 12 years relevant contracts experience in infrastructure projects.
4. Knowledge and experience in Supply Chain Management and MFMA and contract law.
5. Knowledge and understanding of NEC/JBCC/FIDIC/GCC would be mandatory.
6. Valid driver's license and own transport.
