Purpose of the Position:
- To structure and deliver on the content strategy for the DStv Stream Diaspora product, by facilitating a creative, accurate and consistent content curation process with a focus on optimal content discovery and excellent, world-class customer experience.
Key Performance:
- Inventory Management: Maintain the DStv Catch Up inventory for DStv Stream Diaspora product.
- Strategically mine the commissioned local inventory to identify the best VOD content selection to include to Diaspora customers.
- Ensure that the linear linked content scheduled for Diaspora is aligned with the Linear highlights received from channel.
Content Curation:
- Drive content discovery through the creation of themes based on public/external events, current trends and industry activity.
- Analyse content discovery metric performance (promo rows, billboards, asset weights) and manage updates in line with content strategies and analytics.
- Curate titles for Diaspora product that centre on similar attributes – Language, Region, content genre, seasonality, cast member, theme etc.
- Ensure that all selected content complies with distribution, legal and regulatory requirements, including country specific channel distribution, MAH regional censorship guidelines, age ratings, and regional content restrictions.
Operations:
- Distribute consolidated Diaspora Inventory plan to all relevant stakeholders on a monthly basis.
- Track linear schedule changes and communicate any changes to the VOD Scheduling team.
- Ensure that all new and returning shows and movies are scheduled in Pagebuilder and published on the appropriate platform.
- Ensure that billboards and screensavers are published on the platform.
Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain a customer centric approach to problem resolution by reaching out to other departments to ensure optimal solutions and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with scheduling, marketing, and promotional teams to create cohesive and effective curation strategies.
Qualifications Essential:
- A National Diploma in Business Management/ Broadcast/ Media Studies or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification Advantageous or a Degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcast or similar position.
- A “mastermind” knowledge of local content, current and past.
- Passion for User Experience (UX).
- Practical industry experience (content consumption and viewing trends, content protection/security, VOD).
- Knowledge of the broadcast value chain (Linear).
- Strong understanding and experience of the VOD market.
- Ability to work under pressure, quickly and accurately.
