Job Description
Functions (detailed description):
SCHEDULE AND REPORTING
- Update monthly revisions of project schedule.
- Review the Site Manager's monthly project execution status reports for issue to the Head of Construction.
- Execute Monthly Report to be issued to the Steering Committee.
- Execute Monthly Report to be issued to Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and/or Partner.
BUDGET, COST CONTROL AND CASH FLOW
- Supervise and approve monthly revisions of project budget from the Site Manager.
- Order further invoices requests according to the executed EPC contract with the SPV.
- Define future provision of incomes and expenses and, together with the Engineering and Construction Manager and the Financial Department, analyze the current status of cash-flow and its further provisions.
PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
- Identify all services and supplies to be appointed for project execution. Ensure that all RFQs are executed on time and form, providing complete technical documentation for proper definition of requested service of supply.
- Follow up on technical questions coming from the Purchasing Department during the process of offers enquiry and negotiation, and oversee the focus and close out of all of them.
- Be part of signing processes all Adjudication Proposals done by Purchasing Department.
- Liaise and act as key negotiator between procurement stakeholders to ensure agreement on key terms.
ENGINEERING
- Manage all engineering requirements already identified during execution phase of the project.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Oversee direct communication with all project stakeholders.
- Manage signed contract with SPV. Ensure the compliance of all contractual terms between Acciona Energy South Africa and the SPV (handover of monthly reports, invoicing, handover of final documentation, etc.).
- Encourage the client (SPV) to comply with obligations (licenses consecutions, affected services, other conditions).
DOCUMENTATION
- Encourage the Site Manager to generate and complete all documentation in terms of project construction and As-Built of the facility.
- Issue such documentation to the Document Controller.
FOLLOW UP AND MANAGEMENT
- Establish, implement and follow up of all management plans included in the PMP.
- Collaborate with the Engineering & Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, Project Managers (Local and Central) and Steering Committee to define the general project schedule, identify critical points and risk.
- Manage and resolve issues with subcontractors and suppliers (to comply with schedule, quality of execution, economical close – analysis and negotiation of extra-cost during close up).
- Control and approve all certifications and invoices issued by subcontractors and suppliers, including change orders, which need further acceptance of the Engineering & Construction Manager.
- Control Quality, H&E and Environmental Management Plans already defined by QSE department.
- Follow up and control all administrative process, including technical documentation in order to obtain licenses, authorizations and permits, in coordination with responsible person assigned by the Business Development Department.
- Be part of the finance process of the project. Maintain direct communication with the Financial Department for all technical requirements related to such process.
- Coordinate internal and external audits of the project.
- Hold responsibility for the handover of the facility to Production and the Acciona Group Monitoring & Control Centre.
QSE
- Comply with and ensure compliance with the current legal regulations on Occupational Risk Prevention, as well as internal rules and procedures.
- Systematically use tools aimed at ascending communication of incidents, analyzing them and initiating corrective actions, while guaranteeing their descending communication.
- Show, at all times a VISIBLE COMMITMENT in the prevention of accidents and the conservation of the environment.
- Define, with the approval of the General Management, the objectives to be followed in preventive, quality, environmental and social matters, being responsible for promoting, executing and controlling them.
Required Skills and Competencies
Degree/Training:
- Engineering Degree.
- SACPCMP registration will be advantageous.
Additional:
- Additional training in terms of financial, negotiation, scheduling and Project Management even leadership and management of persons.
- Technical knowledge of renewables, successful track record in large projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of FIDIC contracts.
- Good understanding the various interfaces during the project execution phase.
- Experience dealing with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license.
Years/Areas of experience:
- At least 8 years of professional experience and 3 years of experience managing multi-disciplinary, project teams, and management of third-parties.
