Our client based in Humansdorp is currently looking to employ a Construction Manager.
Timeline: Want to appoint someone in January 2025.
Contract: Contract position for 8 months – project dependent, will be extended if project takes longer.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing Construction Plan and Milestones (50%).
- Oversee contracting and management of contractors and sub-contractors (30%).
- Budget Management and Quality Assurance (10%).
- Risk Management (5%).
- Project Close Out (5%).
Requirements:
- BSc Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or Related Field.
- Minimum of 10 Years experience in the built environment industry.
- Proven working experience in construction management.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulation and quality standards.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
- Competent in conflict and crises management.
- Leadership and human resources management skills.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Good understanding of working with project budgets, forecasts and reports.
- High level of stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
