A prominent company in the residential property development sector, known for its upscale estates, is seeking a skilled Construction Manager / Site Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with robust expertise in residential development management to oversee daily operations and specialize in construction sites. The position is located in Centurion, Gauteng, and offers a chance to make a significant impact in a thriving environment.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Preparation of the project schedule per project and assisting and guiding in managing project timelines.
  2. Manage high-end residential project sites on a daily basis.
  3. Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems.
  4. Collaborating with architects, engineers, management and inspectors to ensure that projects are completed safely and effectively and within the stipulated timelines.
  5. Preparing site reports and site diaries for management daily, weekly, monthly & as required.
  6. Liaising with management and staff about the ordering of materials and plant hire.
  7. Adherence to the NHBRC (and enrolled as a technical manager), council & HOA building regulations. Ensure quality workmanship.
  8. Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses.
  9. Ensure all required NHBRC and municipal inspections are performed.
  10. Monitoring and managing project risks and developing & implementing risk mitigation plans as needed.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Degree or BTech in Construction Management.
  2. A minimum of 2-3 years’ construction management experience required in residential property development.
  3. Residential Construction Management: 2 - 3 years (preferred) minimum.
  4. Suitable IT skills (Microsoft 365 literacy is non-negotiable).
  5. Ability to work under pressure.
  6. Driven attitude to get work done and motivated to achieve goals.
  7. Planning, admin and organizational skills essential.
  8. Own reliable transport required.
  9. Company vehicle for site use and cell phone provided.
