Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong administrative background? We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our client’s team in Pietermaritzburg on a half-day basis.

Position: Compliance Officer
Location: Pietermaritzburg

Hours: Half-Day

Role Overview: As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs to ensure our client meets all relevant laws and regulations. You will play a key role in monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and providing guidance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Programs: Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess potential compliance issues.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and audits to improve controls and address compliance gaps.
  • Investigations: Investigate non-compliance issues, fraud, and unethical behaviour, recommending corrective actions.
  • Employee Guidance: Advise employees on compliance matters and ethical standards.
  • Training: Create and deliver training programs to educate staff on compliance responsibilities.
  • Collaboration: Work with various departments to address and resolve compliance issues.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits and investigations.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Communicate with regulatory authorities and stay informed on best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures.
  • Compliance Metrics: Track compliance metrics and KPIs to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Due Diligence: Review third-party vendors for compliance with contracts and regulations.
  • Marketing Review: Ensure marketing materials meet regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Strong administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a compliance role is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with various teams.
