A prestigious and dynamic investment group is seeking a Compliance & Legal Counsel to support the General Counsel in safeguarding the organisation against legal and regulatory risk. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a role that blends compliance oversight with strategic legal advisory across sectors such as banking, telecommunications, mining, agriculture, and financial services.

This role offers the chance to influence decision-making at the highest level while developing and implementing a robust compliance framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and testing compliance, crafting regulatory universes, supporting internal governance, and managing complex legal documentation and transactions.

Key skills and experience required:

1. LLB or higher with 4-6 years of legal and compliance experience in the financial services sector
2. Deep understanding of the Companies Act, Competition Act, and financial services legislation
3. Strong grasp of compliance risk management frameworks, including GACP
4. Familiarity with regulatory filing processes, AML / FICA obligations, and stakeholder engagement
5. C.Prac designation (advantageous)
6. Proven experience drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial and transactional legal documents
