Communications Technician
Job description
The Electrical department currently has a vacancy for a methodical, attentive to detail individual to join their team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation, wiring and mounting of various electronic devices, machines or equipment.
- Installation and programming of access control systems, CCTV cameras and motorized entrance points.
- Installation, fault finding, relocation and fitment of all telecommunications.
- Fitting and testing of data cables for all network points and power skirting.
- Assist in moving offices and setting up PCs, phone lines, and moving files.
- Mounting, wiring and fitting grids for wireless infrastructure.
- Day to day maintenance, installation and servicing of security and data equipment.
- Tool and equipment maintenance.
- Adhoc activities as requested by Manager.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to semi-skilled team members as and when required.
- Understanding of and abiding by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications or qualification in the Electrical field.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
- Basic electric/electronic, CCTV, intercom, data or alarm courses.
- Proven IP and analogue camera, alarm, automation, data cabling, electric fencing, intercoms, UPS and Alternating Current electrical knowledge.
- Knowledge of data cabinet wiring.
- Knowledge and experience working with power tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be prepared to work overtime when required.
