Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Full P&L responsibility for the commodity trading portfolio of the Group.
- P&L responsibility includes cash flow management and engagement with the Cash Team and other Finance functions.
- Overall Business Development function relating to Trading.
- Working closely with the Pricing Lead to ensure effective pricing execution for tenders and business development opportunities.
- Identification and development of commercially attractive trading and business opportunities within the Group’s integrated logistics solutions services.
- Maximize profitability related to commodity trading and business development.
- Directly manage and develop direct reports to align with the Group strategy.
- Develop a pipeline of future opportunities relating to the Trading portfolio.
- Overall accountability for the quotation process ensuring accuracy and expediency.
- Accountability for communication and interaction with all departments involved in completing quotations.
- Maintain a competitor analysis to assist strategically and achieve maximum profitability.
- Provide overall leadership to the Trading Team, promoting continual improvement, humility, and safety.
Customer Management:
- Update and maintain customer information and client interaction database.
- Quick resolution of customer issues and queries.
- Initiate communications with internal and external customers to resolve issues or convey information.
Education, Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary education in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- 3 years’ successful track record in a similar position.
- Mandarin speaking with experience living in China.
- Experience in the Logistics Industry, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management, Mining sector, or Business Development.
- Well organized with good attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to innovate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
