Coldstore and Logistics Coordinator in Fruit Packhouse at Piketberg

RESPONSIBILITIES

General responsibilities

• Staff management (Assistants, clerks, and forklift drivers)
• Full responsibility of cold room control and management - Receiving – Citrus
• Liaise with farms regarding bin movement
• Monitor incoming crates/bins
• Record all incoming product on bin stock report
• Prepare batches as per daily planning
• Waste fruit management - Degreening – Citrus
• Monitor degreening room controls
• Manage fruit in degreening rooms
• Hygiene of degreening rooms - Dispatch – Table grapes
• Manage cold rooms and dispatch
• Oversee the weight of the pallet to ensure that it's according to company standards
• Ensure truck is inspected before it is loaded
• Oversee that the correct pallets are loaded
• Record all dispatch data
• Supervising the loading of pallets
• Ensure the information on pallets is correct before loaded
• Ensure only authorized cargo is loaded into containers and trailers

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

• Matric
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be beneficial
• Background in the citrus and/or logistics/packing industry, with 5 years’ stock control experience
• Computer and systems literate
• Must be willing to work unusual and long hours, unique to the packing industry of citrus/table grapes
