Manage, control and develop the Airfreight (AFR) business activities in the area in accordance with the group business strategy and local business environment to deliver maximum profit and optimize business assets and human resources. Achievement of EAC targets for AFR as per budgets in the country.

Key Tasks

1. Customers
   1. Identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships.
   2. Respond to customer enquiries / complaints.
   3. Lead in engagements and strategic customer interfaces with Key Account Contacts.
   4. Provide leadership in the areas of product and business development, resource utilization, Country organization and activities.
   5. Support and co-ordinate the development, implementation and localization of key initiatives and programmes.
   6. Facilitate and support country's efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities.
   7. Establish KPI's and obtain agreement & commitment from Country management.
2. Stakeholders
   1. Carrier contract / relationship and performance management.
   2. Interact with commercial team (at country level) in terms of pricing.
   3. Define, implement, monitor and enforce service and quality standards.
   4. Responsible for EBIT result at country / country group level AFR.
3. Process
   1. Define, monitor and enforce targets to the operational units.
   2. Select and assign key positions to reach targets.
   3. Analyse costs and cost structure of production on country / country group level.
   4. Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of production means.
   5. Define and implement Airfreight ISO standards in line with corporate instructions.
   6. Responsible for operational management, Production sites, Traffic management, technical support.
   7. Propose IT needs.
   8. Responsible for Preferred Carrier adherence.
   9. Responsible for Operational KPI's.
4. People Management
   1. Determine organization's structure, roles and responsibility and performance targets for the function.
   2. Develop a culture of quality, service excellence.
   3. Develop a team spirit and multitasking capabilities within the team.
   4. Plan, organize and direct an efficient and effective function.
   5. Conduct performance appraisal, including coaching.
   6. Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff.
   7. Identify training needs and opportunities.

1. In-depth knowledge in the logistics industry especially the Airfreight product (both imports and exports).
