CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER GRADE 1

Salary Notch: R 451 530.00 - R 536 376.00 per annum.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Diploma/ Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery.
  2. Current registration certificate with SANC as a professional Nurse in General Nursing and Midwifery (2024).
  3. Post-Basic Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Diagnostic Treatment and Care (PHC) with duration of at least one (1) year.
  4. A minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, at least one (1) year Post Basic Nursing qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Diagnostic Treatment and Care.

CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER GRADE 2

Salary Notch: R 553 545.00 - R 686 211.00 per annum.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Diploma/ Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery.
  2. Current registration certificate with SANC as a professional Nurse in General Nursing and Midwifery (2024).
  3. Post-Basic Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Diagnostic Treatment and Care (PHC) with duration of at least one (1) year.
  4. A minimum of 14 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, at least one (1) year Post Basic Nursing qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Diagnostic Treatment and Care.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Knowledge of SANC rules and regulations.
  2. Knowledge of legislative framework and departmental prescripts.
  3. Ability to formulate patient care related policies.
  4. Knowledge of provincial acts and national acts policies.
  5. Knowledge of sound Nursing care delivery approaches.
  6. Basic financial management skills and conflict management skills.
  7. Knowledge of human resource management.
  8. Ability to formulate vision, mission and objectives of the unit.
  9. Communication skills and decision making.
  10. Ability to provide mentoring and coaching.
  11. Leadership and supervisory skills, report writing and time management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS

  1. Ensure data management at all levels.
  2. Manage and supervise effective utilization of allocated resources.
  3. Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other clinicians including report writing monthly and statistics as required.
  4. Plan and organize own work and support personnel to ensure nursing care, diagnose, treat and dispense medication.
  5. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care at PHC setting in all Health programmes including NGOs, CBOs, and CHWs.
  6. Deputize the operational Manager in charge of the facility.
  7. Monitor infection Prevention and control within the facility.
  8. Assist with performance reviews i.e. EPMDS.
  9. Motivate staff regarding development in order to increase level of expertise and assist patients and families to develop a sense of care.
  10. Ensure that Batho Pele principles are implemented.
  11. Ensure increased accessibility of health services to all community members including staff.
