Clinical Educator Wound Care
Job description
Position: Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse or similar
Qualifications:
- WHASA or recognized Wound Management certificate is essential
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting working with patients, nurses, surgeons, etc. or end users
- Valid driver's license and own transport is essential
Duties:
- Attend to clinical training in the private hospital sector within Johannesburg
- Maintain professional credentials and education to maintain status as a clinical expert
- Support in-hospital wound care in conjunction with employed hospital staff
- Set up new wound care protocols for follow-up visits for end users
- Deliver education programs to a diverse group of internal and external customers and end users to drive better wound outcomes and improve care
- Report back to senior leadership key clinical learnings and opportunities
- Provide clinical and operational support in the delivery of patient care in a hospital setting or clinical environment
- Train physicians, clinicians, and nurses on procedures, protocols, and product use
- Assist with front office operations including billing, invoicing, scheduling, tracking of procedures, reporting, and funder approvals
Skills:
- Effective written and presentation skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical publications/scripts
- Proven success with organization and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to tailor training and education to serve many audiences
- High attention to clinical outcome and follow-through
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to support internal and external customers as well as end users
- Must be self-driven with the ability to work independently
