Job description

The processing of all salary related instructions onto the payroll system, to ensure that staff are remunerated timeously and correctly in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  1. Timeous verification and processing of below listed salary instructions in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements :
  2. Earnings
  3. Deductions
  4. To ensure the electronic short-term contract appointments are generated correctly onto the Payroll System including the management and capturing of claims against these contracts
  5. Capturing of AD-Hoc Payments on ITS System to comply with SARS and finance requirements
  6. Administering and issuing of pay slips through the Info-Slip system
  7. To generate monthly reports of the entire payroll and verify the accuracy of the data.
  8. Reconciliations of the relevant reports and payroll control accounts in preparation for the timeous payment to third parties, i.e. medical aid funds, pension / provident funds etc.
  9. Attend to all queries in terms of the Payroll Department’s Service Level Agreement and standards set.
  10. Proper categorisation and storage of documents in line with current legislative requirements.
  11. Continuous review and update of operational procedure documents

  4. High level computer skills in Payroll ERP system
  5. Possess advanced level skills and practical experience in MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint;
  6. Good communicational skills at all levels of the organisation
  7. Has good inter-personal and conflict management skills;
  8. Management of information and saving and retrieval skills;
  9. Knowledge of ITS Financial system

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must possess :

  1. A Senior Certificate (Matric)
  2. Minimum 2 Years relevant experience within a Payroll / HR environment
  3. Working knowledge on the ITS HR / Payroll system will be advantageous
  4. Degree or Diploma in HR or Payroll will be advantageous
