Job description

Well known pharmaceutical and medical supplier requires a Head of Hospital Care and Infection Prevention.

This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing Marketing and Sales strategies to achieve the appropriate positioning, market share, and profitability of the product portfolio of the business unit at the national level including neighboring export markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Driving profitability of the P&L for the Division.
  2. Developing a local 'Go-To Market' Strategy in line with the regional strategy and implementing the aligned sales model and channels, following the Group Strategy and the company's overall vision, mission, and values.
  3. Breaking down the regional targets received from the Managing Director into targets for local sales teams and individuals.
  4. Defining and implementing marketing strategies, segmentation, promotional plans, and pricing strategies.
  5. Monitoring performance and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  6. Remaining up to date on market conditions, competitors, clients, and any other factors which may affect the business.
  7. Establishing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the industry and fostering academic relationships with scientific societies and professionals in the health sector relevant to the various product portfolios.
  8. Ensuring coordination of the division with the functional areas of the local organization and global headquarters (Finance, Controlling, Sales Administration, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, Supply SCM, Customer Services, etc.).

Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  1. University Degree in either Business Administration, Marketing & Sales, B.Pharm, or a senior tertiary degree in a related field of health sciences.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Management role within a Sales and/or Marketing department of a multi-national Medical Device or Pharmaceutical company.
  3. Proven track record of exceptional results.
  4. Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and defining sales budgets.
  5. Experience in successful implementation of product strategies in local markets.
  6. Preference will be given to candidates who understand manufacturing processes and costs.
  7. Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
  8. Proven track record of managing a Sales Team or a Marketing Team.
