Civil Site Supervisor

Position Overview

SPEC Africa Holdings is seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Site Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
2. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project life cycle.
3. Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to mitigate potential hazards.
4. Monitor and control project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
5. Provide daily progress reports to project managers, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
6. Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other documents to guide and instruct the construction team.
7. Coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment needed for construction projects.
8. Manage and supervise on-site staff, including subcontractors, ensuring high performance and adherence to project goals.
9. Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure work meets established standards and specifications.
10. Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly, escalating when necessary.

1. Compulsory - National Diploma or higher in civil engineering.
2. Proven experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate on-site teams.
5. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing project needs.
7. Familiarity with construction software and project management tools.
8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
9. Relevant certifications in construction management or related field.
