Job Description:

This Specialist Consulting Engineering firm is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry, with a specific focus on structures and buildings. This role requires a professional who is technically proficient, able to manage projects independently and possesses a strong understanding of the civil engineering aspects of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects, focusing on structural and building construction.
• Oversee project planning, design, and implementation to ensure all civil engineering requirements are met.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory standards and codes, including SANS and OHS.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines to meet client expectations.
• Perform on-site inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.

Requirements:

• Professional Qualification: Must be professionally qualified in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant professional body such as ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering within the construction industry, specifically in structures and buildings.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
