Chief Operating Officer

An established property investment and management company, operating since 2007, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

With a primary focus on acquiring, developing, and managing properties in the commercial and industrial sector, they also maintain a diverse portfolio spanning retail, commercial, and residential properties across South Africa.

As the COO, you will drive the overall success and strategic direction of the company while ensuring seamless execution of its vision. Additionally, you will oversee the operational and financial performance of the company’s property investment and management portfolios across multiple regions, optimizing efficiency and maximizing returns.

This will also suit a candidate who is considering relocating to the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute business strategies to achieve the company's short-term and long-term objectives.
2. Identify growth opportunities and competitive threats.
3. Report to the Executive Board and work alongside the Financial Manager.
4. Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all Regions.
5. Managing the Regional Heads of the Western Cape, Gauteng Region & Eastern Cape.
6. Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place.
7. Identify and pursue new investment opportunities in the industrial, commercial, retail, and residential property sectors.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.
9. Lead, mentor, and develop the executive team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
10. Ensure company adherence to legal guidelines, in-house policies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Qualified CA(SA); CGMA; MBA
2. 5+ years minimum of experience working in a managerial/leadership role
3. Experience in Property Management is highly preferred
4. Experience in physical Asset Management is essential
5. Proven track record in Operational and Strategic Financial Leadership

Salary:

1. R1 400 000 - R1 800 000 /annum CTC
