Chief Officer - KwaZulu-Natal - Containerone

We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant to serve as Senior Finance Manager at our leading wine estate in the Cape Winelands.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant young team, working under the Chief Financial Officer, and play a pivotal role in the financial management of our Hospitality and Retail business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Manage all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting for our hospitality, retail, and food production divisions.
2. Accounting and Bookkeeping: Ensure accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and general ledger entries.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
4. Financial Reporting: Oversee preparation of financial statements, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management and stakeholders.
5. Cost Control: Monitor and control expenditures to ensure the business operates within budget.
6. Tax and Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
7. Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial assets to meet our financial obligations.
8. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
9. Supply Chain Oversight: Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to optimise procurement and inventory management.
10. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal financial controls.
11. Team Leadership: Lead the Hospitality & Retail finance team and provide mentorship and guidance to maximise their performance.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

1. A Chartered Accountant (CA) Degree qualification – Non-negotiable.
2. Extensive experience in the hospitality, retail, and food production sectors.
3. Proficiency in financial software, including Business Central, Mews, Tall Order, and Opera is beneficial.
4. A self-starter with a proactive and accountable approach to work.
5. Strong people skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
