Minimum Requirements:

1. Safety Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) / Diploma in Safety Management
2. Valid SAIOSH membership certificate
3. At least 5 years previous experience in safety
4. Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
5. Engineering and Construction background
6. Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Excellent organizational and planning skills
9. Be prepared to travel extensively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Engage as the contact person for health and safety related issues
2. Develop and implement procedures and programs that promote a culture of safety and compliance
3. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented
4. Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety
5. Conduct inspections and observations on all working environments
6. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting
7. Implement and monitor all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems on site, including, but not limited to HSE guidelines, objectives, and practices
8. Schedule and execute audits on site to identify areas of improvement and implement measures as required
9. Carry out risk assessments on a continuous basis on site
10. Keep HSE registers up to date, including renewals of permits, licenses, etc.
