We’re looking for an accomplished Chief Commercial and Operations Officer with renewable energy experience to drive the commercial and operational strategy of a leading renewable energy trading company.
To be successful in this role you will need 15+ years of experience in commercial management in the renewable energy sector. You will need to be experienced in sourcing power supplies, negotiating critical agreements, and overseeing a high-performing team.
This role is about more than just managing – it's about making strategic decisions that will directly impact the company’s growth and positioning in a competitive market! With a +1000MW pipeline of projects, you'll play a key role in ensuring commercial success while steering the company toward its goals.
As a senior leader, you’ll oversee HR, budget, and operations, while working closely with key stakeholders to close high-value contracts. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving efficiency, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
We’re looking for the Chief with a proven track record in commercial strategy, renewable energy, and high-impact leadership.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering, Finance, Actuarial Science, Law, or a related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years in a commercial management role, ideally within the renewable energy sector
- Proven expertise in negotiating and closing power purchase agreements (PPAs)
- Extensive experience in financial analysis, modelling, and decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing and procurement of wholesale renewable energy, ensuring favourable terms and conditions
- Negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other commercial contracts
- Conduct financial analysis and develop models to support commercial strategies
- Oversee the finalization and execution of contracts, ensuring all deals are closed efficiently
- Ensure customer satisfaction remains central to all commercial activities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the company, influencing key business decisions
Team and Leadership Responsibilities
- Mentor and manage a high-performing team of commercial professionals
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven environment within the team
- Lead team efforts in securing new commercial opportunities and partnerships
Business Administration Responsibilities
- Manage HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, and employee development
- Oversee budget management, ensuring financial targets are met
- Supervise operations management to ensure the efficiency of day-to-day business activities
- Develop and maintain operational processes to support business efficiency
- Ensure alignment of operational activities with the company's overall objectives
