Banking Clerk Job Duties

1. Processing of cash and credit card payments/transactions and deposits accounts
2. Daily clearing and reconciliations of assigned accounts
3. Processing of e-Wallet spend and reconciliation of e-Wallet control account
4. Issue petty cash
5. Maintain internal financial controls and procedures
6. Bank Statements Filed/Archived monthly
7. Daily tracking and monitoring of cash and credit card settlement variances
8. Follow up between Cash Centre, FNB & Operations
9. Month-end reconciliation of bank clearing accounts, i.e., cash, credit card, and deposits
10. Assist with audit requests during year-end audit
11. Journal monthly variances to income statement
12. Preparation of daily cash flow
13. Attend to administration on bank accounts as requested by CFO / FM
14. Manage bank account profile, credit limits, e-Wallets, Corporate credit cards, and inter-account transfers
15. Escalate unresolved queries to Supervisor / Financial Manager
16. Constant communication with all parties around cashbook function
17. Educate stakeholders around Ster-Kinekor Theatre's policies and procedures

Qualifications

1. Diploma in Bookkeeping / Accounting

Experience And Knowledge Of

1. 2-3 years' experience as a Banking Clerk / Bookkeeper
2. SAP

Skills

1. Good Accounting knowledge including IFRS, Tax, and VAT
2. Software skills (Word, strong Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, etc.)
3. Numeracy Skills
4. Retail experience will be advantageous
5. Good problem-solving skills
6. Analytical and logical thinking skills
7. Good Communication & presentation skills
8. Professional manner
9. Multi-tasking ability
