CEO/Chief Executive Officer

You understand how to work in a global company structure, whilst still running a business unit/office like it is your own company’s strategy.

Our global niche insurer client needs a new Chief Executive Officer for their SA office to take the helm of a globally respected insurance specialist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Your experience and insights in dealing with both the direct and broker market would be ideally suited to this function.

In this role, you’ll lead the South African business, driving innovation, growth, and market leadership. Your strategic vision will shape the future of the organization, and your hands-on leadership will inspire and empower a talented team of around 11 direct and 50 indirect reports.

Your Mission:

1. Shape Strategy: Lead the company operations in line with its strategy, focusing on digital transformation, innovation, and growth.
2. Drive Growth: Build relationships with intermediaries, brokers, and corporate clients to expand the business and achieve double-digit growth.
3. Empower Teams: Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability across the business.
4. Lead with Impact: Be the face of the organization, driving brand visibility, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Bring:

1. At least 15 years of management experience, with 5+ years at the executive level.
2. A strong understanding of the niche/corporate insurance sector.
3. Visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional financial acumen.
4. Proven success in growing and transforming businesses.
