Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly organised and adaptable CEO Associate (Assistant to th CEO) to provide direct support to our CEO across a variety of tasks and projects. This is an intermediate-level role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to gain exposure to multiple aspects of a growing business. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing diverse responsibilities that range from research and coordination to execution and follow-ups.

This role will provide unparalleled exposure to all parts of the business, offering insight into strategy, operations, finance, marketing, and beyond. You will work closely with leadership and different teams, giving you a front-row seat to how a venture-building ecosystem company operates, scales, and evolves. If you are looking to accelerate your learning and career growth, this position will allow you to develop a well-rounded understanding of business functions in a high-growth environment.

The role requires a minimum of three days per week in the Cape Town office, with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.

Please note: This is a fixed-term 3 month (40 hours per week) contract, with the option to move to a permanent role as the requirements for this role develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support to the CEO on a variety of operational, administrative, and strategic tasks.
  • Manage scheduling, meetings, and follow-ups, ensuring priorities are aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Provide ad-hoc personal assistance to the CEO, handling tasks such as travel arrangements, expense management, and other personal or business-related tasks.
  • Conduct research, prepare reports, and summarise key insights for decision-making.
  • Assist in project coordination across different teams and initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Support documentation, presentations, and communication efforts.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Science, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Law, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project coordination, strategy, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and a collaborative mindset, ensuring smooth and respectful interactions within teams.
  • Clear and professional communication skills that align with role requirements.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities, aligning projects with business goals.
  • Presentation skills, including the ability to support the creation and delivery of effective presentations.
  • Understanding of startup dynamics,
  • Proactive approach to company-wide improvements and initiatives.
  • Ability to research, learn, and implement new tools and technologies quickly.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working independently and within a team.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced, international environments.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile when necessary.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment, coupled with a self-motivated approach to acquiring new skills independently.
