Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment strategies to optimize inventory.
  • Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to align product assortment with demand forecasts.
  • Manage store budgets and identify opportunities for stock turn improvements.
  • Prepare pre-season store plans and corporate guidelines aligned with merchandise strategy.
  • Assess the viability and strategy of new and revamped stores, ensuring proper profiling and planning.
  • Provide monthly feedback to merchants on new and revamped store performance, highlighting opportunities.
  • Manage seasonal store grids to ensure optimal stock distribution.
  • Oversee Omni-channel stock and sales levels to ensure seamless availability across all selling platforms.
  • Control aged stock levels in alignment with company strategy.
  • Work alongside the allocation team to execute allocation and assortment strategies effectively.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track business performance, trends, and opportunities.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to provide insights on customer buying behaviors and market trends.
  • Support pricing and promotional strategies by analyzing their impact on sales and profitability.
  • Foster constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with key functions within the business to achieve operational goals.
  • Track and report key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs), such as order fulfillment rates and lead times.
  • Ensure efficient DC throughput via optimization of the supply chain and stock flow to ensure execution of business needs and opportunities.
  • Manage the flow of stock through the distribution centre (DC) to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 3-5 years of experience in merchandise distribution, retail planning, supply chain analytics, or business analysis, preferably in the clothing retail industry.
  • Prior experience in merchandise planning, allocation, business analytics or logistics is a plus.

Skills

  • A high degree of numeracy with an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Retail preferable
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and add-on applications
  • Strong business acumen, merchant thinking, and an understanding of store and customer needs.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven decision-making ability
  • Strong affiliation to systems; rapid upskilling on new applications and tools
  • The ability to influence and work with internal stakeholders as well as external business partners with a strong focus on alignment across the various areas and teamwork.
  • Service-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
