Required experience:

  1. 3 years

Skills and experience:

  1. Experience in Climate Change, Sustainability Advisory, Project Management, Natural resources or Climate Finance.
  2. Familiar with critical thinking and sustained interest in systematic analysis.
  3. Knowledge of digitalized transformation and evolving knowledge products through advancements in information processing and AI technologies.
  4. Experience in Carbon management and strategy.
  5. Experience undertaking GHG accounting including GHG Protocol and Carbon Reporting: Scope 1, 2 & 3 GHG Accounting + Reporting.
  6. Experience with target-setting approaches and best practices, including the development and lodging of science-based targets and initiatives.
  7. Experience delivering assurance/verification of environmental information and reporting.
  8. Experience developing and implementing carbon/energy reduction programs.
  9. Experience with concepts such as natural capital and net-biodiversity gain.
  10. Knowledge of (a) public sector management, (b) International trade law and policy, (c) capacity building, and (d) stakeholder relations.

Languages:

  1. English, Level: Fluent, Required
  2. French, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
  3. Swedish, Level: Basic, Desirable

Required education level: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Environmental Sustainability, Law, International Relations, Economics, Climate Finance, Trade Policy, and Education or related fields. A Project Management Certificate would be advantageous.

Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.

Duty station: Pretoria, South Africa
