Your Purpose

As a Car Rental Consultant, you’ll be responsible for handling rental enquiries, ensuring seamless bookings, and delivering expert advice that drives customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals. You’ll be a key part of ensuring our clients have an effortless experience, from enquiry to vehicle return.

Your Core Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Maintain a minimum 30% conversion rate on enquiries by delivering persuasive and tailored solutions
• Respond to rental enquiries within 2 hours, providing expert advice and personalized recommendations
• Assist clients with payment issues and offer alternative solutions

Booking & Administration

• Process bookings accurately, ensuring all details align with quotes and system data
• Handle special requests, including cross-border applications and ancillary products
• Create travel documentation (vouchers, confirmations) with precision

Post-Booking Support & Issue Resolution

• Provide concierge-style assistance to clients from booking to vehicle return
• Address complaints with urgency and find solutions that leave customers satisfied

Revenue & Profitability

• Maintain minimum required profit margins on all car rental bookings
• Upsell relevant products to enhance customer experience and increase revenue

Flexibility & Team Collaboration

• Work weekend and after-hours duty shifts as scheduled
• Assist with emergency after-hours phone when required
• Support the team with additional tasks when needed

Experience & Knowledge

What You Bring to the Table

• Matric
• A Tertiary Qualification in Travel/Tourism is an advantage
• 3-5 years of customer service experience with a strong sales component (face-to-face or telesales)
• Car rental sales experience is a big plus!
• Strong knowledge of Southern Africa and its travel landscape

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and time management abilities
• Detail-oriented with exceptional admin and organizational skills
• Driven by sales targets and passionate about delivering top-tier customer service
• Tech-savvy – MS Office, Google Workplace (Tourplan knowledge is an advantage)
• Must have a driver’s license and own transport
