Buyer Poetry - Ladieswear

An opportunity has just become available in our Leisurewear Department for a resilient, innovative and resourceful Buyer who can add value to our Ladieswear team through the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Ladieswear merchandise for Poetry.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to significantly contribute towards the achievement of our department and business objectives as well as have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Range preparation, coordination and presentation
2. Range execution in alignment with the business objectives
3. Presenting range reviews
4. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
5. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts
6. Effectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departments
7. Overseeing the Product Quality and Fit
8. Controlling sample stock
9. Attend tradeshows and conferences to stay abreast of industry standards
10. General buying administrative functions

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required

1. Grade 12 certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification is required
2. 5 years of retail merchandise buying experience of ladieswear is essential
3. Experience working in a clothing retail environment is an important requirement
4. Working knowledge of the retail cycle and merchandise buying principles and processes
5. A clear understanding of ladieswear styling, components and construction
6. A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required
