A solar company in Pretoria is seeking the services of a Buyer.

Reference: NES-RS-1

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Buyer to join our procurement team.

Responsibilities:

1. Source and procure electrical materials, equipment, and components from suppliers.
2. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
3. Review and analyze supplier quotations, proposals, and bids.
4. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements.
5. Maintain relationships with suppliers and evaluate their performance and reliability.
6. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
7. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
8. Collaborate with internal teams to optimize procurement processes and strategies.
9. Prepare purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement documents.
10. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role.
2. Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and materials.
3. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
5. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
6. Attention to detail and a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
7. Understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
8. Experience in the construction or engineering industry is a plus.
