Business Intelligence Analyst

Main Purpose of the Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing reporting solutions that deliver actionable insights to the business. You will work with stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop PowerBI dashboards, and ensure data accuracy in key systems such as Salesforce. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of scalable data infrastructure, supporting the organisation's goal of building a fully functional data-lake. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

1. A strong statistical background with a degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
2. 3-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role
3. Proven expertise in PowerBI
4. Knowledge of SQL databases is required. Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data
5. Familiarity with Salesforce reporting and data management best practices
6. Cloud platform knowledge (AWS or similar) advantageous
7. Experience working with or building data-lakes is a plus

1. Data Visualisation: Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports that support business goals
2. Database Management: Work with large datasets, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and optimisation of data delivery. It includes processes that acquire, validate, store, protect, and process required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for internal users
3. Data Analytics: Conduct analysis of datasets to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities, presenting them in a way that drives business outcomes
4. Reporting: Ensure timely delivery and automation of reports for stakeholders while proactively improving reporting frameworks. It requires the ability to work with rich and large data and the skill to interpret it into information that is easily translatable and understandable to the business
5. Data Architecture: Collaborate on the development of scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure

Key Areas of Responsibility

Data Management

1. Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards to provide actionable insights for various business functions (e.g., Declined Bonds, Customer Data, Market Share)
2. Automate and optimise repetitive data tasks and manual processes
3. Contribute to building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data-lakes for future business needs
4. Support the Data Enablement team to clean and maintain Salesforce data integrity

Operational Effectiveness

1. Work closely with business stakeholders to meet data requirements and ensure reporting needs are fulfilled
2. Collaborate with product teams to ensure accurate data capture and availability for reporting
3. Establish monitoring processes to ensure data quality, availability, and security
4. Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requirements to address emerging business needs
