Business Development Manager - Western Cape, Cape Town

Business development for a reputable corporate travel management company, incorporates the sourcing of new clients, including facilitation of on-boarding and associated processes, as well as the retention of those customers, ensuring the commercial success of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To win profitable business in line with individual targets set by the Head of Business Development.
2. To promote the brands to target audience.
3. To develop a strategic pipeline of business leads to assist with the future growth of the company.
4. Participate in the achievement of departmental short-, medium- and long-term goals.
5. Travel nationally or internationally for client-related activities as required or when requested by the Head of Business Development.
6. Analyse market trends and competitor behaviour and report such information to the Head of Business Development.
7. Balance expectations of both the Company and the Client when attending meetings - act as liaison with both parties.
8. Attend regular monthly product presentations, Finance & Administration and Client Services meetings as and when required.
9. Ensure that all client servicing and new business activity is conducted in line with the Company's Code of Business Conduct.
10. Provide the Head of Business Development with any ad hoc reports when requested.
11. Account Management.
12. New Business / Sales.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant area of study is very essential.
2. Matric.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. At least 2-3 years' experience in business development management position within the travel and tourism industry.
2. Excellent presentation skills, negotiation and relationship building skills with strong commercial awareness.
3. Industry norms.
4. An excellent command of the English language.
5. An excellent command of MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
